What happens to films and videotapes that reduces their quality?

The dyes in film lose their color, often unevenly, due to improper processing and storage at extremes of temperature and humidity. Videotapes can suffer damage from excess humidity and demagnetization from magnetic fields, both natural and man-made. Some experts predict deterioration within 20 years of the first recording.

What about making additional copies of the DVD?

Additional copies can be obtained for $10 a disc after the original DVD is created. Keep in mind that because of digital technology, there is no loss of quality for subsequent copies.

What about editing the material for the DVD?
